Empowering the Leaders of Tomorrow – A CSR Initiative
Allsec’s has always believed in the power of people, and their ability to make a difference when given the right environment to grow. So when COVID 19 disrupted the education of thousands of children, we knew it was time to ramp up our efforts. As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Allsec volunteered to renovate the premises and facilities of a government school in Chennai.
We joined hands with Careworks Foundation (CWF), the CSR arm of Quess Corp. and started a School Enhancement Program (SEP). A needs assessment was conducted and we found a government school in dire need of support— Thanthai Periyar School, in Puzhuthivakkam, Madipakkam.
The school was surveyed and examined to understand its requirements. Common areas such as washrooms, hand wash areas, auditoriums and labs required major renovations. In order to tackle this massive project, a four-phase action plan was drafted.
In phase-1, the toilet facilities were refurbished and handwashing areas were rebuilt. The auditorium and computer labs were also upgraded. A compound wall was built, and safety grills were installed in the premises. The kitchen was renovated with a new roof and the school was also repainted using waterproof paints.
On 24th March 2021, Mr. Ashish Johri, CEO, Allsec Technologies inaugurated the premises, renovated under phase-1. The school is now fully equipped with all the necessary amenities to provide a holistic education.
In phase-2, we will install digital classrooms and modernized labs. This will help students with technical proficiency and ready them for their illustrious futures. Phase-3 will include mentoring programs for teachers to enhance the quality of education, and in Phase-4 we will continue to support the school in all endeavours.
CSR initiatives like these are just the start…
